A 009 narrow gauge model railway of Rhyd Ddu. The project was born in late 2005. This blog describes the planning, woodwork, track laying, wiring, DCC, scenery, locomotive and rolling stock. The layout is an impression of the Welsh Highland Railway (WHR) Rhyd Ddu station and Tro Ffridd reverse curves. 009 is 4mm scale (OO) narrow gauge using N gauge track.

Hi Colin, this is looking better and better every time i read. I like the idea of the blogs about manufacturers, very interesting.
Are you planning on exhibiting when it's all finished? Would be great to see it some time and i'm sure it would attract lots of interest at exhibition!
Good to see someone else using carpet underlay, it's great stuff for moorland grass. I've just been using some on my layout Dunbracken, very effective.
Anyway, keep up the good work, will be interested to see how you get on with DCC too as i'm just starting this in 009 too!
