Day 4 (Tues) we had to have the windscreen replaced on our car, so the morning was a little frustrating but we did manage to visit the ospreys at Pont Croesor... The new CCTV cameras are amazing - check this close-up!
Then we walked into Porthmadog (about a mile) and took the train on the WHR(P) to Traeth Mawr, which was nice. Thomas can be seen particularly enjoying it (below):
We spent the rest of the day in Porthmadog.
On Weds, we parked in Beddgelert and walked along to Gelert's grave and the Aberglaslyn...
one of the tighter bits - note the hand holds!
The Victorian invention that is the 'legend of Gelert'!

After that we popped to Rhyd Ddu for a photographic expedition (more of that on this blog later) and a cup of tea at the Ty Mawr tearooms.
The funkey from the road near the tearooms.
The Waunfawr end water tower will have a very long outlet pipe with a stand - quite odd and will be interesting to model! There are rumours that the water tower was placed in the wrong position, but there is a culvert where it might have been preferable for it to be, so I suspect these are inaccurate.
Thomas loved playing with the long grass!
